Tourist service providers
Tourism partners are important players in the tourism industry as they provide individual services that together form the overall holiday product. These services are referred to as the tourism service chain or tourism service bundle and include various aspects such as information and advice, booking, transport, accommodation, catering, local entertainment, return journey and aftercare. Each step in this chain is crucial to the traveller's tourist experience and contributes to a smooth and enjoyable holiday.
Tax to promote tourism (TPT)
Municipalities with a high tourism value added can levy a tourism promotion tax.
Companies and self-employed persons who derive a high benefit from tourism through their economic activity are liable to pay the tax. The revenue is primarily used for market development.
The municipal regulations are a prerequisite for levying the tourism promotion tax.

Visitor's tax
To finance the promotion of tourism, the municipalities of the Gstaad holiday region levy an annual tourism promotion tax. The tax is levied on legal entities and self-employed natural persons in all sectors, both full-time and part-time, who benefit directly or indirectly from tourism, as well as landlords of holiday flats, camping sites and group camps.
