Infrastructure in winter: We clear the way for you

Gstaad Saanenland Tourism is working hard for the locals and guests to ensure that the complete network of cross-country ski trails and winter hiking paths are ready.

GST maintains 82 kilometers for cross-country skiers in five sub-regions, and in Schönried and Saanenmöser there is also technical snow-making. Excavators, caterpillar dumpers and tractors are used to supply snow. There are aslo four cross-country skiing machines that are used to prepare the trails every day. A total of 17 employees take care of this task. In addition, ten other employees operate and maintain 33 tours, which together make up a winter hiking network of 120 kilometers. "We also have two Pistenbullys and four tractors with various attachments which are in daily use to guarantee an unforgettable winter hiking experience," says Jan Brand, Head of Infrastructures and Projects.
