ADONIA TEENS KONZERT | Adonia-Musical «Zachäus»

20.04.2024 , Saturday

The Adonia Teens Choirs present their latest musical. One of the 20 choirs with around 70 participating teenagers also performs in our region. Adonia brings the extraordinary story of Zacchaeus to the stage as a thrilling musical.
On the way to Jerusalem, Rabbi Jesus passes through Jericho. His popularity attracts the crowds. Bartimaeus and the unscrupulous head tax collector Zacchaeus also want to see this Jesus. But both have a handicap: Bartimaeus is blind and Zacchaeus is too small to see over the heads of the crowd. Then things happen that change their lives forever.
A gripping musical about loneliness and connection, the opportunities and limits of prosperity and the longing for peace. The atmospheric choral singing and the sophisticated arrangements transport the profound lyrics wonderfully into our time. Staged with a lot of heart and passion by the Adonia Teens Choir with a live band, written by the proven team of authors Jonas Hottiger and Marcel Wittwer. Let yourself be captivated by this biblical story!
In just three days, the Adonia choirs and their live bands rehearse a remarkable program. In addition to singing in the choir, theater, dances and choreographies are also practiced.
Over 1,200 singing-loving teenagers will take part in this major musical project in spring 2024. In total, they perform in over 80 towns in German-speaking Switzerland and French-speaking Switzerland.
The first Adonia choir performed a musical in 1979. The young primary teacher Markus Hottiger initiated this choir work and composed the musical for it. Over the last 45 years, the one choir has become a large children's and youth ministry with around 50 musical and sports camps per year and a publishing house with materials for schools and churches.
One of these choirs with 70 teenagers will perform on April 20, 2024 in the community hall in Zweisimmen. Admission is free; a voluntary collection is charged.
