Julia Lezhneva & Kammerorchester Basel

02.09.2026 , Wednesday

As early as 2018, the Church of Saanen shone brightly through touching love arias from the celebrated interpreter – then as now beside the Kammerorchester Basel. The Russian soprano Julia Lezhneva returns for an evening full of baroque splendor, where Händel's brilliant concerti grossi engage in a sparkling dialogue with rarely heard Italian opera arias – those famous "travel arias" that primadonnas and tenors of that time always carried ready in their luggage (hence their German name Kofferarien), in order to impressively showcase their vocal bravura.
