Menuhin Festival Gstaad
Founded in 1957 by the legendary violinist Yehudi Menuhin, the Menuhin Festival Gstaad has grown from modest beginnings in the church of Saanen into an internationally recognised institution. Today, it ranks among the world’s most renowned classical music festivals.
From the very beginning, the great names of the classical music world have shaped the festival. To this day, it stands for the highest artistic quality, international prestige, and a truly distinctive atmosphere.
Menuhin’s vision was to bring together artists from around the world in the Saanenland – in a spirit of openness, encounter, and musical connection. The result is a festival that has remained true to its founding idea: to celebrate the great legends of music while offering a platform to the stars of tomorrow.
Since the 2026 season, the festival has been under the artistic direction of Daniel Hope, who was supported by Yehudi Menuhin from a young age and maintained a close artistic connection with him.
Each summer, more than 75 concerts in the historic churches of the Saanenland and in the Festival Tent in Gstaad transform the region into a unique meeting place for music at the highest level – defined by artistic excellence, stylistic diversity, and the dialogue between tradition and the present.
