The round hike starts in the village of Gsteig and initially leads across open countryside via Pitteli to the hydroelectric power station, where the path crosses the Saane. After the climb up through the Schüpfeweid, you reach the wooded area around the Burgfälle. The Burgfälle consist of an impressive formation of five cascading waterfalls, which are particularly visible after rainfall or during the snowmelt. In the area of the waterfalls, the path runs partly over steep steps and narrow bridges secured with handrails. Due to the exposed terrain in places, a head for heights is required. The route then continues through a clearing before descending through the forest to the Sanetsch valley station. From there, the route returns to the village of Gsteig via Innergsteig.
