From Saanen, the first section of this route leads via Unterbort into the Grischbach valley. The route then climbs up to Mittelberg. From here, the descent begins to the remote village of Abländschen, followed by a rather flat section to Jaun. In Jaun, shortly before the village center, turn left onto the gravel road to Im Fang. In Im Fang, cross the main road and continue on the single trail to Pra Jean, where the Vallée du Gros Mont begins. The first part of the valley is rather flat before the ascent in zig-zags to the high plateau begins. The steep climb is rewarded with pristine nature and tranquility. The route continues past Vanil Noir, the highest mountain in the canton of Fribourg, and via Rougemont back to Saanen.

The Gstaad holiday region is located in the southwest of Switzerland right on the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The region is easily accessible by train or car from the Thun lake region, the Lake Geneva area, and the Gruyère region. Direct connections to the European high-speed train network and to all international airports in Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and comfortable arrival. The main means of transport in the Gstaad region are the "MOB" (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) train and numerous postal bus lines.
