This hike takes us to the Schönried mountain Rellerli. Thanks to its south-facing location, hiking here is possible for much of the year.

The hike leads from Schönried in a relatively direct line up to the mountain station of the former cable car. The path is a relatively steep alpine access trail. From Rellerli, the route goes via Hugeli on a hiking trail to the Alp Grosse Vorschess. The views from Hugeli are enchanting and offer a 360° panoramic view of the Bernese and Freiburg Alps. From Alp Grosse Vorschess, it goes back to Schönried via Bergmatte. The trail passes over natural roads and later over an asphalted secondary road.

  • Approach

    The holiday region of Gstaad is located in the southwest of Switzerland, right on the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The region is easily accessible by train or car from the Thun lake region, Lake Geneva area, and the Gruyère region. Direct connections to the European high-speed rail network and all the international airports of Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and pleasant arrival. The main means of transport in the Gstaad region are the "MOB" train (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) and numerous post buses.
