Brahms & Schubert | Zukerman, Hope & Friends

25.07.2026 , Saturday

Once again, an inspiring meeting of "mentor" and "protégé" – firmly in the tradition of the Mauritiuskirche in Saanen, which has been the central place for musical encounters of this kind since the festival's inception in 1957. To bring Brahms' music and Schubert's quintet for two cellos – perhaps one of the most impressive chamber music works ever and a true "testament" from Schubert's last year of life in 1828 – to new life, Pinchas Zukerman and Daniel Hope join forces with companions from their musical family: pianist Simon Crawford-Phillips, Ryszard Groblewski, solo violist of the Zürcher Kammerorchester, and the two cellists Amanda Forsyth (Zukerman's wife) and Josephine Knight (professor at the String Academy).
