Khatia Buniatishvili

23.08.2026 , Sunday

Since the beginning of her career, she has been part of the Menuhin Festival Gstaad. Meanwhile, the exceptional artist and her family even live in the mountains of Montreux, making the journey as a "neighbor" even more relaxed! In 2026, Khatia Buniatishvili will once again take over the entire festival tent in Gstaad – the anticipation for her promising, exciting return is huge! As always, her playing unites overwhelming expressiveness and emotions of touching intensity – be it in Schumann's monumental Fantasy or in a poetic Consolation by Liszt. At the same time, she invites us to dance as the waltzes of Chopin or Liszt unfold in three-quarter time, full of elegance and soaring lightness. Added to this is a singing, profoundly poetic sound culture that shines in exquisite arrangements of Schubert songs before the program escalates in breathtaking virtuosity – crowned by Liszt's enthralling Hungarian Rhapsody No. 6 as a sparkling finale full of passion and brilliance.
