Royal Danish Orchestra | Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider & Marie Jacquot
22.08.2026 , Saturday
Denmark in the spotlight! A dazzling symphonic evening at the Festival Tent Gstaad, fully dedicated to the North: For the first time in the region, the Royal Danish Orchestra will perform – the shining star of Danish orchestral culture, whose roots date back to 1448! The program will kick off with the Three Pieces for Orchestra by Hans Abrahamsen, one of the leading voices in contemporary Danish music – premiered in 2018 by Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic. At the podium is the exceptional conductor Marie Jacquot, winner of the Victoires de la musique classique 2024 and newly appointed chief conductor of the Royal Danish Orchestra. And did you know? Before Marie Jacquot rose to become the new hope of French female conductors, she stood on a completely different stage in her youth – as a junior tennis champion at the French Open!
