Mannenberg Castle

At the highest point of the Mannenberg in Zweisimmen you will find the remains of the Upper Mannenberg Castle. It was probably destroyed in 1349 when it was stormed by Bernese troops.

The artificially created terraces around the castle ruins served as a walled outer castle area.
