Change of Perspective – Understanding through Experience
Life stories that move and foster understanding for people with disabilities through self-experience
Goals and Content:
On this day, a tourism academy will take place on the occasion of the National Hiking Day in Gstaad, featuring a sensitization campaign "Gstaad Barrier-Free" by Gstaad Saanenland Tourism. Simon Vögeli (affected individual, PluSport) and Ronny Ramseier (visually impaired, with guide dog) will be available for questions at their stand on the ice rink area from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. They will provide personal insights into their daily lives and showcase the challenges of living with a disability. You will also learn interesting information about how a guide dog supports affected individuals and how the dogs are trained.
Additionally, visitors are invited to become actively involved: In small "challenges" on the ice rink area, various situations can be experienced independently – from navigating in a wheelchair to walking with a white cane and blindfolded, to experiencing deafness.
Experience firsthand how limitations feel, and gain new perspectives. The goal is to strengthen understanding and empathy in interacting with people with disabilities.
