At 1640 meters, above Zweisimmen on a high plateau, lies Sparenmoos. The raised bog area is considered a landscape of national importance due to its many gems.

From the Zweisimmen train station, you can comfortably take the bus to the start at the Sparenmoos mountain hotel. The first part of the sledding run is accompanied by views into the Simmental valley. The route leads over snow-covered meadows and through forest sections. Since it is not very steep from the start to Heimchueweid, it is well suited for families. From here, a bus runs back to the start or the village of Zweisimmen.

  • Approach

The holiday region Gstaad is located in the southwest of Switzerland, right at the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The region is conveniently accessible by train or car from the Thun Lake region, the Lake Geneva area, and the Gruyère region. Direct connections to the European high-speed train network and to all international airports of Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and pleasant arrival. The main means of transport in the Gstaad holiday region are the "MOB" train (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) and numerous post bus lines.

On the page Arrival and public transport on gstaad.ch you will find detailed travel information.

  • In case of very heavy snow, the Sparenmoos Run is extended by 2.6 km to Zweisimmen. The extension is moderately difficult and winding. It is almost exclusively located in the forest. Upon arrival at the Obegg stop, you can either take the bus or walk back to the train station – or go back up to the start again. About 1 km walk from the Obegg bus stop (end of sledding path) to the train station (alternatively a bus also operates).
