Giselle the chicken discovers the magical world of the Alps around the Rinderberg and Hornberg mountains with her friends Saani and Olga. You accompany her on her journey of discovery.

First, buy the Alpenzauber booklet at the valley station of the Rinderberg gondola lift in Zweisimmen. The gondola then takes us comfortably up to the Rinderberg, the starting point of the hike. The valley station is only a five-minute walk from the train station – ideal for those arriving by train. If you like, you can listen to the Saani audio play "Fritz – The Hero" during the gondola ride.

Once at the top, the Rinderberg mountain restaurant with its sun terrace invites you to linger. Children can let off steam outside on the large façade playground or inside in Olga's cowshed. Then the hike towards Hornberg – Horneggli begins. The Alpine Magic Trail starts right at the entrance to the hike. Eight lovingly designed stations accompany us along the way and tell us exciting and interesting facts about life in the Alps. After a short climb to the summit of the Rinderberg, the Rinderberg Spitz (2,079 m), the trail descends gently on a well-maintained hiking trail with breathtaking views of the main Alpine ridge. The trail leads via Parwengen to Hornberg, where the actual Alpine Magic Trail ends. From Hornberg, the trail continues towards Horneggli, which can be reached after a gentle descent.

Once you’ve reached your destination at Horneggli, you can have a go on the large wooden marble run (Wooden marble to take home: CHF 2.-), grab a bite to eat at the mountain restaurant, or simply enjoy the view. The chairlift then takes hikers back to Schönried in comfort.

The trail can also be walked from Horneggli to Rinderberg. The Alpenzauber booklet is also available at the valley station in Schönried. This makes the large Rinderberg playground the destination at the end of the hike!
