The gondola takes you comfortably from the traffic-free chalet village of Gstaad up to the Wispile mountain station. Before the fast ride on runners begins, the sled must be pulled for about 40 minutes to the start. The easy hike leads along a beautiful panoramic path along the ridge. As "compensation," there is an impressive view of the Spitzhorn, a subpeak of the Wildhorn.

At Chrinetritt, it starts thrillingly. The upper part of the track, which is also used by winter hikers, is definitely not for the faint-hearted. The descent starts steep and fast right away, you gain real speed and have to watch out to catch the tight curves. Rightly, this section is marked for "experience and adventure sledders." The lower part is somewhat less steep. Along various forest sections, the descent, which takes about an hour, meanders mostly through open fields.

At the bottom of the valley lies the heritage-protected village of Gsteig at the foot of the Col du Pillon. Its church and the nearby Hotel Bären with its traditionally painted facade are among the most frequently photographed typical local scenes in Switzerland. From the end of the sled run, it is only a few minutes on foot to Gsteig. From there, the post bus returns to the Wispile valley station.
