  • Difficulty moderate
  • Duration 3:25 h
  • Distance 10,1 km
  • 469 m
  • 469 m

The hike starts at the Sparenmoos parking lot. Over the gently ascending Nüjeberg plain, the trail leads to the Alp Schiltenegg. From here, the terrain becomes steeper. Over the broad southeast ridge, you reach the summit of Hundsrügg (2047 m above sea level).

To continue enjoying the view of the Alps and the impressive Gastlosen mountain range, we recommend taking the path toward Erbetlaub-Seeli for the descent. Via Luegle - Erbetlaub and Schiltenegg, you return to the Sparenmoos parking lot. On the way back shortly after Schiltenegg, a detour to the mountain restaurant Nüjeberg is worthwhile, which offers delicious and fine delicacies from the alp.

The route largely follows Switzerland Mobility Route 314. This allows for an optional extra loop: After Nujeberg, the route continues to Obernegg and then over the ridge to Hundsrügg. This extends the hike by about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Switzerland Mobility Route

From Sparenmoos, you can either hike the last 4 km down to Zweisimmen, take the hiking taxi, or rent a scooter at Site Alp and enjoy an exciting ride back to Zweisimmen train station, permitted from age 12.

The Gstaad holiday region is located in the southwest of Switzerland, directly on the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The region is conveniently accessible by train or car from the Lake Thun region, the Lake Geneva area, and the Gruyère region. Direct connections to the European high-speed rail network and to all international airports in Switzerland guarantee a time-efficient and pleasant arrival. The main means of transport in the Gstaad holiday region are the "MOB" train (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) and numerous post bus lines.

On the Arrival and Mobility page at www.gstaad.ch you will find detailed travel information.
