Many workers already commute by train or bus, thus making an important contribution to environmental protection. Many locals also use e-bikes as a means of transport. Why not give it a try?

What's more, public transport is included with your guest card! So you can leave your car at your accommodation and travel comfortably by train or bus.

Be inspired by our regional products
Regional shopping plays a major role in sustainability. Many stores, including large distributors, offer a wide variety of regional products. Several farms have farm shops, many of which are self-service and can therefore be visited day and night. Prepare to be surprised!

Help us reduce, reuse, and recycle to minimize waste in our region

Separating waste (cardboard, paper, glass, plastic, or PET) is an easy way to contribute to environmental protection. There is at least one recycling station in every village in the destination so that all waste can be disposed of correctly. We would be grateful if any litter (packaging, tissues, etc.) could be picked up and disposed of correctly without being asked. Anyone who wants to take a stand against littering is welcome to take part in the Clean-up Days in spring and fall (see newsletter). Thank you very much for your help!

Enjoy our drinking water without PET directly from the tap

Drinking water is the most important foodstuff and is subject to strict hygiene requirements. High-quality drinking water flows from all taps throughout the Gstaad vacation region, and you can fill your drinking bottles at most public fountains at any time, free of charge and without hesitation. Drinking tap water is therefore good for you and for our planet.

Enjoy snow sports responsibly!

Only by conserving their energy reserves can wild animals survive the harsh mountain winter. That is why there are wildlife sanctuaries and wildlife protection areas. Here, the needs of the animals take priority. Winter sports activities and other uses are therefore often restricted. However, the winter landscape still offers enough space for both humans and animals. You can find more information about the wildlife protection zones in the ski area of the holiday region Gstaad on our interactive map in green. In addition, there are further interesting facts on the subject and the general FIS rules on correct behavior on the slopes. We thank you for your consideration.

Control your heating remotely

By adjusting the heating in second homes in a timely manner, Switzerland could save up to 2,200 GWh of energy annually. That is why Gstaad Saanenland Tourism has asked all owners to join the MakeHeatSimple campaign launched by SwitzerlandEnergy. The aim is to install remote controls for heating systems. This means that before leaving on vacation, the heating can be turned up to room temperature and then turned down again to an “energy-saving” level after the vacation.
